KAOLIN a series of spotlights , designed by Philip Platino , are hand crafted in natural clays. The name comes from a white rock, one of the main ingredient in ceramics. The three different sizes are developed with AUREA proportion to add harmonic simplicity to the compostions. Each cylinder is finished by hand to add textured with a gracious spiralling effect. Surface mount zoomable Spotlight body made of ANTICORODAL 6082 low-copper-content aluminium alloy for excellent resistance to corrosion, made entirely on a CNC lathe. Black finish obtained through an initial treatment of the material with sandblasting and then electro-colouring to provide corrosion resistance equal to more than 1500 hours of salt spray testing. 4mm thick transparent clear glass in high transmittance to ensure chromatic uniformity of light. Delivered ready to use with an IP67 connector on both ends and can be easily installed via clips or mounting profiles. The aluminium profile is used for thermal management, so that even powerful LED strips with up to 25W/M. The polyurethane encapsulation ensures an IP67 rating and high resistance against salt water and UV radiation by a clear polyurethane encapsulation.
